I just tuned in to my daily dose of television this morning. I was channel surfing and I stopped for awhile on Channel 42 which is Myx on our local cable operator.

I saw some hiphop videos such as Sean Paul's Get Busy, Nelly and Kelly Rowland's Dilemma and the typical rap/hiphop grooves etc. I got a tinge of nostalgia while watching those videos and remembered the old days when I used to wear oversized jeans and basketball jerseys. Which me and my friends would like to call as "The Hiphop Days" before our small city was brooding with so-called Gangstahhhhs.

I was sort of shocked when I found out that the segment was MYX Backtracks. What? Really?? I didn't know it was that long ago that I used to see those videos on a regualr basis on tv, see students dancing to it every school program blah blah blah.

I guess this was how the college teens during the late 90's felt when they were watching Bon Jovi, Guns and Roses, Def Leppard, The Cure, Spandau Ballet, Duran Duran and all those 80's bands and techno groups on MTV Classics or some other music channel that plays songs from a decade before.

I remember watching those kind of videos and feel like laughing because of the weird hairdos, idiotic dance steps, the mediocre graphics which was state of the art during that time and the out of this world clothing that the artists wore.

Now I wonder, how the kids of today (Grade School/ High School kids) think of the videos that me and my generation thought of as cool..

Probably, the same as what we thought of the 80's and early 90's era. Weird and Funny. Haha
